The Northwest Corner Woodworkers Association regrets to announce the passing of Nick Van on Monday morning, May 7, 2012. Nick had been a member of NCWA since 2000. He was elected President in 2001 when, as he put it, “no one else would take the job” and he was instrumental in the evolution of NCWA into the organization it is today. He remained a member of the board for several years and continued thereafter to serve the membership as an instructor and mentor to “newbies”. Nick is survived by Allegra, his wife of 58 years, four children, a host of grandkids, and an emerging crowd of great-grandchildren.

"Take a piece of wood — plane, sand and oil it and you will find it is a beautiful thing. The more you do to it from then on, the more chance that you will make it worse."
